Finding Your Spiritual Family

The spiritual path is lonely.

When you begin exploring the mysteries of life, the subtle laws of existence, the world within, you slowly notice that the people closest to you cannot follow you there.

Your friends, your colleagues, and your family are wonderful, but they just don’t get it.

It becomes frustrating when you want to discuss the world of meditation, consciousness, or your connection with Shiva, but there is no one around who truly understands you.

You simply can't have these conversations at a regular dinner table.

And so it gets lonely.

You carry questions, glimpses, and experiences with no one to share them with.

The spiritual journey is essentially an individual one. But it doesn't have to be walked in isolation.

The Buddha said it plainly: If you find a wise companion, a fellow traveller of good conduct, walk together, delighted and mindful. And if you cannot find one, walk alone rather than with fools.

So how do you find them?

You cannot search for a spiritual family directly. You find them by walking.

Attend the meditation programs. Sit in the classes. Keep your practice. Go to the retreats. Make the pilgrimage. Visit the sacred places. When you keep moving in the direction of your own growth, you inevitably meet others moving the same way.

This is how it has always worked, including in my own life.

So keep walking your path, and your spiritual family will find you along the way.

And if they don't, take that as a blessing in disguise.

Because ultimately, the spiritual journey is not about company or community.

A spiritual community or a sangha is a beautiful support for the seeker but the essence of spirituality is in turning within. And that is always done alone.

So if you find yourself walking alone, see this as an opportunity.

As Sadhguru says,

"For those who are on the spiritual path, being alone, keeping a distance from people, and becoming silent are not issues - these are opportunities."

Birth of a Spiritual Family

This is what happens at Yog Prachar Retreats.

It is the birth of your spiritual family.

You come alone. You return with a family.

When you walk beside fellow seekers who carry the same longing, the same higher purpose, the same turning toward Shiva, a beautiful thing happens.

That feeling of isolation dissolves. And a spark returns to your eyes, because at last you are among people who understand.

The bonds, the laughter, the love that grow on the road to Kailash are hard to put into words.

A true spiritual family is one of the rarest blessings in this world.

And when everyone around you is moving in the same direction, the journey stops being only a journey. It becomes a celebration.

And that is exactly what Kailash with Yog Prachar is.

I will see you in Kailash 🔱
